Gospel according to Luke 8:1-3
Today’s Gospel presents Jesus always on the move. He does not wait for us to reach Him: He passes through cities and villages, enters our streets, our wounds, and our stories, bringing everywhere the Good News of God’s love. Beside Him we find men and women who, after encountering His gaze, can no longer live as they did before. They have been healed, loved, and lifted up, and now they desire to follow Him with all their heart. This is what happens to us too when we truly encounter Jesus: His love conquers us and awakens within us the desire to respond with love to the love we have received. Lord Jesus, pass once again through the streets of our life. Heal what is wounded, fill what is empty, and set our hearts on fire with the flame of Your love. Grant that we too may follow You with joy, placing in Your hands all that we are and all that we have, because there is no more beautiful adventure than walking with You, living through You, and becoming in the world witnesses and proclaimers of Your wonderful Love.
