Gospel according to Matthew 13:36-43
Today, Jesus speaks to us about the Last Judgment and reveals a truth that enlightens the heart and gives hope. In the field of the world, wheat and weeds grow together, good and evil, light and darkness. Even in our own hearts, fragility and the desire for holiness can coexist, but the Lord never stops sowing what is good. With infinite patience, He waits for the seed of His grace to sprout, grow, and bear fruits of love. Evil will never have the last word. God sees what human eyes cannot see: He knows every hidden tear, every act of charity carried out in silence, every prayer lifted up with faith. Nothing born of love will be lost. Whoever remains united to Christ, even in trials, becomes a seed of hope capable of transforming the world. This Gospel invites us not to judge others, but to allow ourselves to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Every day, we are called to uproot from our hearts pride, resentment, envy, and everything that distances us from God, so that mercy, forgiveness, humility, and charity may grow within us. Jesus’ final promise is wonderful: “The righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” This is the destiny of those who choose to love, to trust in the Lord, and to persevere in faithfulness. Let us live, then, with our eyes fixed on Heaven, without becoming discouraged in the face of evil, certain that the love of God is stronger than every darkness. Do not waste time looking at the weeds: allow Jesus to cultivate your heart and become, each day, good wheat for His Kingdom Whoever lives in love, even here on earth, already begins to shine with the light of Heaven. Today, sow a concrete gesture of love, forgiveness, or mercy, and ask the Holy Spirit to make your heart a fruitful field, where love, peace, and joy may grow.
