Gospel according to Matthew 15:21-28<\/p>\n
This page of the Gospel reveals to us that true love does not give up before the silence of God, but continues to knock with trust. The Canaanite woman does not allow herself to be discouraged by Jesus\u2019 apparent refusal, nor by the difficulties she encounters. Her pain becomes prayer, her humility becomes strength, and her faith opens the heart of Christ to a miracle that changes her daughter\u2019s life forever. How many times do we, too, when God seems not to answer us, think that we have been forgotten. In reality, the Lord is not absent: He is educating our hearts toward a love that is purer, freer, and more trusting. He wants us to learn to entrust ourselves to Him not only when everything is going well, but also when we do not understand His ways. The Canaanite woman teaches us that humility is the door through which grace enters. She demands nothing, she does not rebel, she does not take offense: she remains at the feet of Jesus with the certainty that even a single crumb of His love is able to transform sorrow into joy, despair into hope, and the death of the heart into new life. We too are called to kneel before Jesus with the same trust. There is no wound that He cannot heal, no family that He cannot rebuild, no sin that His love cannot forgive. When we abandon ourselves completely to Him, we discover that His heart is infinitely greater than our fears and that His love surpasses every boundary, reaching every person who seeks Him with sincerity. Today, let us ask the Lord for the gift of a persevering, humble, and ardent faith; a faith that does not grow tired of praying and that continues to love even in trials. Then Jesus will also speak over us the words that fill the heart with Heaven: \u201cGreat is your faith! Let it be done for you as you desire.\u201d Great is the faith of those who have learned to truly love God.<\/p>\n
