Gospel according to John 20:1-2, 11-18
Mary Magdalene is not searching for an idea, a memory, or a teaching: she is searching for Jesus. She searches for Him with all her heart, even through her tears, without giving up. And it is precisely because she loves so deeply that she remains before the tomb when everyone else has gone away. True love does not run away; it remains. True love knows how to wait. How wonderful You are, Jesus! You do not rebuke her tears, but transform them into joy. You do not give her a long speech: You simply pronounce her name. “Mary!” One single word from Your lips is enough, and her heart bursts with happiness. When You call us by name, every fear vanishes, every darkness is filled with light, and every wound finds consolation. My Jesus, I too want to live like this: deeply in love with You. I want to seek You without ever growing tired, to desire You above all things, to recognize Your voice among a thousand other voices, and to run toward You with all my heart. You are my only Love, my everything, my joy, Paradise already begun here on earth. Let my life become the announcement of Mary Magdalene—not only through words, but through every breath, every smile, and every gesture of love. Grant that whoever meets me may sense that I have seen the Lord, that I live through Him, and that I desire nothing other than to make known to the world the immensity of His Love. Jesus, I love You with my whole self, and I want to belong to You forever. Like Mary Magdalene, I desire to proclaim to everyone I meet the wonders that God works in my life, without hesitation and without fear, so that all may come to know the beauty of having a Father who loves us with an infinite love, even to the point of giving His only Son on the cross for our salvation.
